PITTSFIELD-Gary L. Whitman, 65, died on Tuesday, May 31, in St. Albans.

Gary was born on November 27, 1950, in Ware, Massachusetts, the son of Eltheron and Eleanor (Calkins) Whitman. He worked for many years as a truck driver. He enjoyed working the carnivals in the summer months. He was kind, loving and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda Whitman of Pittsfield; children, Eric Whitman and wife, Hope, of Groton, Connecticut, Bonnie Richards and companion, Frank Dennis, of Glenburn, Matthew Whitman and wife, Corianne, of Manchester, New Hampshire and Amey Whitman of St. Albans; grandchildren, Jacob, Austin, Dylan, Nicholas, Chandler, Skye, Matthew, Cassidy and Christina; brothers, John Whitman and wife, Marie of Plymouth and Jim Whitman and wife, Sam, of Pittsfield; many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 4, at the Village Cemetery, Peltoma Avenue, Pittsfield, with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. (Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home)
