William H. “Bill” Mosby, age 83, of Evansville, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital.

Bill retired from the Evansville Fire Department after 36 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. Bill was also an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the St. Agnes Men’s Club, Mater Dei Men’s Club, the R-Men’s Club and the CASH group at St. Agnes.

Surviving Bill are his wife of 58 years, Rosaline (Craig) Mosby; a son, Timothy (Sherry) Mosby; a sister, Bernadette (Don) Wade; two brothers, Don (Martha) Mosby and Jim (Barbara) Mosby; by a granddaughter, Rachel Mosby and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Weimer and Mary Jane Tieken and brothers, Thomas, Carl “Pete”, Charles and Norman “Red” Mosby.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Rev. Simon Natha officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum, where the Evansville Fire Department Honor Guard and the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct rites.

Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 4:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Friday at St. Agnes Catholic Church.
