"Tuffy" James was the son of the late Vernon Posie and Nina Shoe James of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina. He proudly served his country and retired after 25 years of military service having received a purple heart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three children, three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Jennen James; three children, Danny James of Texas, Ronnie James of Ky. and Robert James of Locust; two sisters, Charlotte James and Vicki James both of Ky.; and their children and grandchildren; one step-daughter, Ginger Marvin of Mesa, Ariz.; sisters, Nancy Humphrey, Elaine Hill, Geraldine White and Margaret Boger; and brother, Frank James.
