The following was written by a dear dear friend and absolute family members, Sheila :
Glen Geist born February 29, 1960, yes that was leap year, has died and gone home to his Lord on May 29, 2016 which is also a leap year. Leap year he was 14. Regular years he was a young 56.
Glen really fought the battle for quite a few years. He never gave up the will to live. He never gave up who he was as a person. Yes a rare cancer got him in the end but Glen still fought life to the fullest. By all means of the definition minus blood, he was my brother. Always will be and my heart has a huge hole in it. Yes I am crying tears of sadness yet some are tears oh happiness that he no longer hurts. Those left behind are hurting tremendously.
His husband Steve Geist has been vallently by his side every step of the way. Steve you were so brave for Glen. I respect all you have done and more. You also are my brother and I will always be here for you.
Glen had many families. He had his Renaissance family who knew him as Papa and which grew by leaps and bounds. Going to Northern Faire will never be the same.
He also had his leather family of a couple thousand strong. Sandy Mama Reinhardt pinned him Mama's Lil pup and his number was number 75. So you can see how long he was/is part of that family.
My dearest friend, brother, my pup, I love you now and ever. May Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him Lord. ....
