Leroy Shue
Leroy Shue 49, a resident of Ft. Worth, Texas, and a native of Wilson County, died of an apparent heart attack June 27, 1991 at the All Saints Hospital in Ft. Worth. He had suffered a stroke two years previously.
He was born Nov. 25, 1941, in rural Fredonia, a son of Carl Allen and Myrtle L. (Whinery) Shue. He moved to rural Parsons with his family as a child.
He worked for a Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad at Parsons, and then was transferred to Ft. Worth where he was working as a clerk in the warehouse department for the Union Pacific Railroad.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church of Parsons and Parsons Elk Lodge No. 527, as well as a member and representative of the United Transportation Union and a past member of IOOF.
He was married to Jennifer Tipton Dec. 23, 1962, in Miami, Okla., and they were later divorced.
Survivors are three son, David A. Shue, Tulsa, Ricky L. Shue and Roger E. Shue, both of Parsons; one daughter, Melissa Shue, Lawrence; one granddaughter; his mother, Myrtle Shue, Parsons; one brother, Claude A. Shue, Parsons; two sisters, Judy Arabia, Suisun, Calif., and Debbie Gordon, Perkins, Okla.
Services were Monday, July 1, at the Burris-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons, with Rev. Richard McCandless officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Parsons.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
