Leroy Gillum, age 86, longtime resident of Germantown, went to be with the Lord at the home of his son in Gulf Shores, Alabama on Thursday May 26, 2016. He was born in Ashland, Kentucky on July 19, 1929 to Thurman and Alma (Stapleton) Gillum. Leroy was a member of founding member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Carlisle. He was employed with General Motors, Harrison Radiator Division for 42 years and retired in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thurman Gillum, mother, Alma Gillum, wife Kathryn Gillum; daughter, Linda Susan Gillum, brothers, Dewey Gillum, Elwood Gillum, and Charles Gillum. Leroy is survived by his three sons, Mike (Michelle) Gillum, Jerry (Fran) Gillum, Roy Gillum; two brothers, Leonard Gillum, Carson Gillum; sister, Charlotte Gillum; four grandsons, Jason, Damon, Ryan, Joshua; three granddaughters, Heather, April, Rachel; three great granddaughters, Alisha, Kayla, Madeline; two great grandsons, Randy, Zachary.
Funeral services at Hillcrest Baptist Church 820 Central Avenue Carlisle, Ohio with Reverend Larry Lambes officiating. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
