George "Ray" Mills
AGE: 77 • Elkton, Maryland
Former longtime resident of Elsmere, DE, Ray passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
A native Delawarean, Ray was born in Wilmington to Morton and Violet (Phillips) Mills. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Connors.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elsie; his children, David (Tamara), C. Joseph (Cathy), Danny (Jolyn), Karen Weeks (Robert), and Gino; his stepmother, Kathleen; his sister, Elizabeth Montaldo; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert (Karen); and his sister, Carolyn Baker.
Ray was a member of the Elsmere Fire Company for 57 years, where he was Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief.
A viewing will take place at Elsmere Fire Hall, 1107 Kirkwood Hwy, Elsmere, on Monday, May 30, from 5:00-7:00 pm. The Service will take place at 7:00 pm at the Fire Hall. Interment will be on Tuesday, May 31, at 10:00 am.at Delaware Veterans Memorial, Bear.
