He was the husband of Barbara A. (Schlenker) Bailey, having celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in December of 2015. He was born in Albany Township, a son of the late Harold H. "Hank" and Marguerite L. (Kemmerling) Bailey Sr.
He was a Logger and part owner of the former Bailey Logging Co., Kempton, from 1975 to 2004. He later was employed as a part time school bus driver for the Kutztown School District until retiring in 2010.
Dale was a graduate of Kutztown High School, class of 1960. He was a member of New Bethel Church, Kempton, as well as the Kempton Fire Co. and the Kempton Rod and Gun Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Debbie L. Bailey, Reading; two sons, Michael D. Bailey and Timothy S. Bailey and his wife, Dona, all of Kempton; a sister, Alice M., wife of Warren Follweiler, Kempton; three brothers: Richard W. Bailey, Kempton, Glenn W. Bailey and his wife, Millie, of Lenhartsville, and Terry L. Bailey and his wife, Cathy, of Kempton; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Roy A. Bailey and Harold H. Bailey Jr.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, PA 18066. A calling hour will begin at 10:00 a.m. Rev. David W. Blitch will officiate. Burial will follow at the New Bethel Union Cemetery, Kempton, Pa.
