Mr. Leroy Edward Savage, 72, of Germantown, well-known retired Montgomery County dairy farmer, died Tuesday, July 1, at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Born on Dec. 1, 1913, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Harry R. and Osie Poole Savage. Mr. Savage was a former member of the Maryland/Virginia Milk Producers Association and the Holstein-Friesian Association.
Surviving are 10 sisters and brothers, Virginia M. Ruby of Germantown, George A. Savage of Mount Airy, Charles J. Savage of Gaithersburg, Martin L. Savage of Ijamsville, Melvin R. Savage of Boyds, Florence L. Burrier of Frederick, Evelyn L. Covell of Boyds, Lucy Dove of Mount Airy, Marshall C. Savage of Frederick, and Rebecca (Betty) Rhinecker of Damascus; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at the Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home in Damascus. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at the funeral home.
The Rev. Paul S. Hudson of the Germantown Baptist Church will
officiate. Interment will be made in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
