Mrs. Maria Grove, widow of the late Stephen P. Grove, died at her residence one mile west of Sharpsburg, opposite Antietam Station, N. & W. R. R., on Saturday evening, June 8 at 5 o'clock. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Lula and her sons, Messrs. Alva D., at home, and Philip, of Woodland, Yolo County, Cal. Mrs. Grove, whose maiden name was Dillon, was first married to Norman B. Robinson, a prominent merchant of this place. Two children were born unto them, James B., who died some years ago, and Miss Fannie, the wife of Mr. Wm. M. Blackford, of this place. Mrs. Grove was truly a lovable woman. Kind and affectionate, she was loved by everyone and in her immediate family circle was idolized. It may justly and truthfully be said of her. "That none knew her but to love her." Her charities knew no bounds and were dispensed to all irregardless of creed or sect, and what she did only the Master knew. She was a conscientious and constant member of St. Pauls P. E. church for many years.

Her funeral took place from her later esidence at 2 o'clock on Tuesday. The body was conveyed to St. Pauls church, where impressive services were held by the Rector, Rev. H. E. Costelle, after which the remains were taken to the family burial ground in Fiarview cemetery, at Keedsyville, and interred.

The pall bearers were Messrs. H. W. Schamel, Jacob McGraw, John P. Smith, Samuel Hebb.
