Marvin C. Nelson of Lindstrom, Minnesota, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the age of 85 years.
Marvin was born to parents Carl and Estella on August 12th, 1930 in Lindstrom, Minnesota. He graduated from Chi-Hi High School in 1948 and he married Beatrice Carlson on June 16th, 1951. Together they had two sons and operated a third generation family farm for over 40 years. Marvin served many organizations including the Chisago County Fair Board, Farm Bureau, School Board, and was a lifelong member of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church.
Marvin enjoyed fishing, inventing, and following the local professional and high school sports teams. As quite a handyman, he could repair anything using duct tape, rubber bands, glue, and a vice grip pliers.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Beatrice; sons David (Joyce) Nelson, and Donald (Rita) Nelson; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister and brother-in-law Elaine & Vernon Lundberg.
