Abram Chappel was born a slave about 1764 in SC he was brought from Alabama through Louisiana to Texas, was used/loaned-leased-or allowed to freely wonder from farm to farm with his slave wife and sons to Brenham Washington Co TX and the Chappel's were sold to the McIntoch(sp)and taken to Fort Bend Co TX.At a time it was noted he started having more female (Girls ) than males.. Then he was sent to Brazos Co. for the first time As he aged he was sent back to S C then back to Fort Bend and eventually around 1855 Abram lived with his granddaughter and her children under the protection of Rufus (Bob) Fisher and there he remained, he even endured the harshness of Albert Ransom. He told Mila & Bob's children their true identity, emphasizing Albert Ransom was not their biological father and the house they lived in wasn't his but a home their father had provided for them...In 1870 Abram died and Mila's oldest children had to move out of their home.Shortly afterwards Rufus (Bob) Fisher showed up and as the story was told cleaned house.

He lived to be a wonderful 106 yrs/o. His 1st wife's name was Hattie from Alabama and his 2nd wife's name was Marey Johnson, a mulatto from Virginia.Mrs. Marey Chappel married a Ervin and moved from Fayette Co TX to Washington Co TX and lived there until her death after 1880, believed to be buried in Austin Co. TX
