Marvin Gene “Goose” Richens, age 68, of Vernal, was reunited in Heaven with his loved ones on May 17. He peacefully passed away at his sister Beverly’s house surrounded by loved ones. He was born to Eugene and Lois Jean Cook Richens.
Marvin was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was a person who loved being in the country and outdoors. He served our country in the Vietnam War in 1968 through 1974. (A big thank you for your services). He loved to hunt, trap, fish, the mountains, prospecting and spending time with family. He had the deepest love for his grandson, Ricky Braman.
He worked in the oilfield as a roughneck for 20 years and also a welder. He has traveled to a lot of the states in our country including Alaska and also Canada.
Marvin has published four books: Never Again, Uncle Sam, Adventures Through Life, The Scare Bear, and Dreams of Reality. He also wrote some songs.
He had a heart of gold. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, we will treasure all our memories together. We love you.
