DR. F. A. CONN

F. A. Conn was born November 11, 1871, on a farm near Marengo, Iowa. He attended the University of Iowa, graduating from the Dental School in 1897. After graduation, he taught school for a few years.

Dr. Conn married Mary Louise Nessely in April, 1899. He also began his practice of dentistry in Hartley in 1899 and was in the same office above the Hartley Library all of that time. He served ably on the School Board and was president of that body in 1918. He was a member of the Masonic Order since 1905 and a member of the Chamber of Commerce since 1918. Dr. Conn was a life member of the American Dental Association and of the Iowa Dental Society. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Dr. Conn passed away on February 4, 1955, at the age of 83 years, 2 months, and 23 days.

He is survived by his widow and one grandson, Richard, of Bellevue, Nebraska, three great grandchildren, Margaret Frances Conn, Rex Craig Conn, and Marcella Elizabeth Conn. The only son of Dr. and Mrs. Conn, Rex Morris [Conn], preceded his father in death.

His memory will be cherished by relatives, friends, and those whom he had served in his many years of practice.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m, at the Methodist Church by the pastor, the Reverend Raymond A. Roloff. Mrs. Harrison Pike played appropriate organ music. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jake Weimer, Bill Hesse, Russell Chute, Bill Goering, W. A. Hamilton and A. F. Palmquist.
