Mary was the eldest child of William George Washington Brown (6 Nov. 1835- 2 Jan. 1914) and his 1st wife Elizabeth Spencer Brown (c.1837-c,1862). William is bd in Lindley Prairie and Elizabeth may be too. Mary married 1st 12 Apr. 1874 Samuel James Barton; 2nd 18 Oct. 1883 William M. Thompson; 3rd 6 Aug. 1892 John Fairchild. She married two more times, but took back the name Fairchild after her last divorce from John Bishop.
