LOUIS MCKERN IS TAKEN BY ILLNESS

Resident of Mystic and Jerome Dies of Pneumonia in Hospital Here This A.M.

Mystic (special) - Louis Henry McKern, 66, died at the St. Jospeh hospital in Centerville this morning at 3:45 after a losing fight against pneumonia. Mr. McKern was taken to the hospital five days ago, but his condition was so serious that the best medical care could not save him and his death occurred this morning.

Born in Mercer county, Mo., Mr. McKern spent most of his life in northern Missouri and southern Iowa. For the past seven months he had been staying at Jerome. Prior to that time he had made his home with a son, Eugene, in Mystic.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter, Lela. Surviving are two sons, Eugene of Mystic and William of Kansas City, and two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Burns and Mrs. LaVera Cathcart, both of Centerville.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed this morning.
