Funeral services for Darrell Eugene Chapman, 86, Jeffersonville, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with interment in Sellersburg Cemetery. He passed away during the afternoon hours of Saturday May 14, 2016, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.

He was born Oct. 20, 1929 to the late Andrew and Iva Chapman in Elwood. Darrell honorably served his country in the Untied States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Smith Transfer after 35 years as a truck driver.

Survivors include a son, Ricky (Joann) Chapman, Jeffersonville; daughter, Anita Pfister, Clarksville; brother, Melvin (Evelyn) Chapman, Jeffersonville; sister, Peggy Palazzo,Tucson, Ariz.; significant other, Sandra Stephens, Jeffersonville; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Allie Pearl Chapman and his daughter, Cathy Fanning.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus of Southern Indiana, 624 East Market St. New Albany, Indiana 47150.
