Minnie Hair Pope, 73 of Orangeburg entered into Heaven peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2016. She was born July 9, 1942 in Elko, SC; the daughter of the late Claude W. Hair and the late Grace Youngblood Hair.

Minnie was a member of St. George Baptist Church. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Sister and Aunt who loved her family, church and community and served them faithfully during her lifetime.

Survivors include a son: Jeffery (Wendy) Pope of Harleyville, SC; daughter: Deborah (Chris) Thomas of Beaverdam, VA; grandchildren: Jessica Pope, Jeffery (Tammy) Pope, Jr., Myles Parler, Tate Parler and Colby Thomas; great grandchildren: Jaden, Gage, Bentley, Pryce, Autumn and Tamarah; sisters: Jane McCandless, Nell (Jim) Lynn and Claudette McFarlene; brothers: Claude (Joyce) Hair, Vernon (Myra) Hair and Jerry Hair; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at her home and at the funeral home. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the funeral home. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM on Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. George Baptist Church in Orangeburg with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg with Rev. Steve Dees officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Pope. Jr., Myles Parler, Tate Parler, Chris Thomas, Colby Thomas and Dillon Thomas. Memorials may be made to St. George Baptist Church; 2590 Shillings Bridge Road; Orangeburg, SC 29115.
