Jonas Larson of Oxford Died Last Week, Married on Tuesday and Died the Following Day
Jonas Larson, 69 years old, a farmer whose home was near Peter Jacobson farm in the town of Oxford, about nine miles southeast of Isanti village, died suddenly last week on the day following his marriage. Dr. Johnson was called to the Larson home on Sunday, the 7th, and found the old gentleman ill, but there appeared to be no serious symptoms of disease. Tuesday, Judge Southerland and Clerk of Court Hanson were summoned to Oxford, a marriage license was issued, and Judge Southerland preformed the ceremony uniting in marriage Mrs. Carolina Benson and Jonas Larson, the bride having been housekeeper for the groom. Mr. Larson died Wednesday, and Coroner Sterner viewed the remains Thursday. Dr. Sterner decided that death resulted from congestion of the lungs. Hardening of the arteries, a condition quite common to aged people, and weakness of the heart, were also found, but not in a form to cause death.
On Tuesday of this week an application for the appointment of an administrator of the estate was made to Judge Southerland in the probate court, just a week to a day from the time he performed the marriage ceremony for the decedent.
