Mrs. Free was a employee of the Monroe News-Star as well as the State of Louisiana in the Family Services Division. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was survived by three sons, Richard Free and wife Alice of West Monroe, Ray Free and wife Peggy of Monroe, and Tommy Free and wife Joyce of Grapevine, TX; two daughters, Barbara Franks and husband Sonny of West Monroe, and Brenda Childers and husband Walt of Kennedale, TX; one sister, Rosalie Carlton; grandchildren, Cherie and Eric Mulkey, Donnie and Melissa Free, Tonya and Willie Holloway, Scotty Ray Free, Charrissa and Jim Norris, Landon and Ashlee Franks, Greg Free, Michael Free, Amber and Kurt Magnuson, and Wes Childers; step-grandchildren, Tammy and Chris Patrick, Monica and Jeff Kirkland, Bridget and Justin Cannon, and Avril and Gary Liddell; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
