Mr. Bessinger was born in Clinton, SC, on August 21, 1931, to the late John and Verna Lee Bessinger. He was a retired stone cutter and a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. Mr. Bessinger served his country in the U.S. Army.
Left to cherish his memories are his siblings: Betty Sue Rucker and her husband Billy of Elberton and Marvin Bessinger of Warner Robins; sister-in-law, Gerrie Bessinger of Elberton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Buck Bessinger and Mary Frances Durham.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, May 12, at 4 o'clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Tommy Fields and Phillip Burden officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
