Bob Bushwood, age 86, of Hudson, FL, was surrounded by his family as he passed on to heaven on April 19, 2016, from a sudden heart attack. He was born on August 17, 1929 in Ontario, New York to Edward and Kathryn Bushwood. He and his wife, Norma moved to Hudson in 1990 from Penfield, New York after his retirement from 40 years at the Eastman Kodak Company where he last served as the Manager of Customs and Immigration. He was a Veteran of the US Army, Past President of the Penfield Rotary, Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, and active member of the St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church of Hudson, FL.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma, in 2014. He is also preceded in death by his son Robert (Bob) in 1990. He is survived by his daughter Jane Reule (William) of Dallas TX, and his son, David Bushwood of Hudson FL. He also is survived by his seven grand children: Paul and Mark Reule, and Wesley, Bryan, Ashley, Ian and Lara Bushwood. He is also survived by his two great grandchildren.

Bob built his life upon his strong faith, his devotion to his wife and his love for his family, his friends, and upon his commitment to a life of service. In his last week, he came in first in Monday night bridge, shot an 89 at golf, volunteered two days at the hospital, and served as usher and Eucharistic minister at his church. He loved his family and friends dearly, and already we are hearing heartfelt stories of how Bob has touched so many… from his close buddies of the Crazy Eights golf group that he helped to found 25 years ago, to his Knight and Church family, to his poker and bridge buddies, to neighbors, to restaurant servers… the list continues to make this writer’s heart smile.

To say Bob will be sorely missed by many is an understatement, and the family wishes to thank all who have known Bob and have been a part of his life. In particular, we want to thank all who helped him to cope and to find his way after the death of the love of his life, Norma, two years ago.

We would love to hear your “Bob stories”.

Visitation will be held at Prevatt Funeral Home on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Knights of Columbus will hold a special ceremony at 7:00pm with a Vigil following. Services will be held at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11:00am with internment at Trinity Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following.
