John H. Hugo died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. J. Knack, No. 73 Union Street, Saturday, night at 11 o'clock, after a lingering illness, of cancer of the stomach. He was 74 years of age. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Charles Edward and William: four daughters, Mrs. Conrad Eifert, Mrs. E. J. Knack, Mrs. Fred Sarno and Miss Dorothy M. Hugo, all of this city; two brothers, Aaron, of Schenectady, and William, of Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Wessell, of Wisconsin, and Mrs. Trommer, of this city. Mr. Hugo, who was born in Germany, came to this country 51 years ago, settling in Schenectady, but for the past 35 years he has resided on his farm near Manny's Corners. He was a member of the German Methodist church.
The funeral, which will be private, will be held at the heme of Mrs. Knack on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Paul Loescher will officiate, and the interment will be in Green Hill.
