Daniel Robert "Danny" Abruzzino, 77, of Fairmont died Monday night, May 2, 2016, at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. He was born in Fairmont on July 28, 1938, son of the late Frank and Mary Spine Abruzzino.

Danny is survived by his loving wife, Constance "Connie" Martin Abruzzino of Fairmont; his daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Daniel Coleman of Naples, Florida; and two grandchildren, Christopher Anthony Abruzzino and Gianna Marie Abruzzino, both of Hedgesville. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael "Mickey" and Linda Abruzzino of Fairmont; and three sisters, Kathryn "Katie" Poster of Fairmont, Virginia Zuspan and Patty Abruzzino, both of Grafton.

A Catholic by faith, Danny was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He graduated from Fairmont Senior High School, class of 1957. Danny was retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Plant where he worked in the maintenance department.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Dan enjoyed spending time at his camp in Preston County, which he built with wood from trees he harvested on site. He was very talented at woodworking and took great pride in the kitchen built for his daughter and son-in-law in Naples, Fla. with cherry wood from the family camp site.

As a lifetime fan of baseball he enjoyed watching his son and more recently his grandson play baseball. As a fan and supporter of Fairmont State University athletics, he enjoyed spending time attending sporting events, especially Fairmont State Basketball. He loved spending time with his family and in his leisure time he enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles.

Danny was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His family was everything to him, his wife, children and grandchildren were what he lived for.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Daniel "Robbie" Abruzzino on January 29, 2016; four brothers John, Frankie, Joe, and Sammy Abruzzino; and three sisters Mary Christian, Rose Julian, and Betty Abruzzino.
