Bill passed away Saturday evening in Athens.
He was born September 8, 1948 in Longview to the late William Len and Jo Catherine Richardson Cairy. He served in the United States Army as a dog handler serving 2 tours in Vietnam where he was a prisoner of war for 28 months. He loved to watch westerns on T.V. and spent a lot of time outdoors fishing and attending Flea Markets.
Bill loved spending time with his family and especially the grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his wife Debra Cairy, Athens, son; Charles Shubert, daughters; Debra Whitehead and husband Billy, Athens, Jennifer Hamack and husband Jason, Bullard, Angie Wilson and husband Steve, Georgia, grandsons; C.J. Whitehead and wife Stormy, Brownsboro, Nathaniel Thomas, Louisiana, granddaughters; Haley Clakley, Athens, Amber Smith, Georgia, sister; Nellie Watson, Longview.
