Dorothy J. (Deatherage) Dittemore, 91, of Kansas City, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Mosaic Life Care.

Dorothy was born on August 14, 1924, south of Agency, Missouri, to Paul D. and Audrey (Riley) Deatherage. She was a graduate of the Agency High School and had worked for Farmers Insurance Company at their Corporate office in Phoenix, Arizona, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Joseph, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Arizona and St. James Catholic Church in Kansas City.

She married James E. Thomas in 1942, he preceded her in death. She later married William Dittemore who passed away in 1970. She was also preceded by her parents and two brothers, Donald and Delbert Deatherage.

Survivors include two sons, Larry (Margie) Thomas, Glendale, Arizona, Delton Thomas, Kansas City; grandchildren, Kimberly (Jonn) Griffin, Mesa, Arizona, Karen (Tim) Enderton, Ankeney, Iowa, Mark (Tacia) Thomas, Litchfield, Park, Arizona, Sean Thomas Maylene, Alabama and Scott (Cindy) Thomas, Altus, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Caleb Griffin, Mesa, Tiffany (Greg) Kunzler, Fairbanks, Alaska, Kyle Enderton, Ft. Riley, Kansas and Imogen Thomas, Litchfield Park, Logan Thomas, Maylene, Alabama; one brother, DeWayne Deatherage, St. Joseph; three sisters, Doreene Whetstine, Troy, Kansas, Delores (Jim) Hodgson, Agency, Deanna Holmes, St. Joseph; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was looking forward to the birth of her great-great-grandchild, baby boy Kunzler in September 2016 in Fairbanks.

Mass of Christian Burial: 1:30 p.m. Monday, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 1 p.m. Sunday, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 4-8:30 p.m.
