In Cleveland, George married Harriet Hodson (or Hodgson) in 1838 and had two sons, George and Joseph. The family moved to Zanesville, Ohio, where Harriet died on Jan. 29, 1847 (burial location?). In Sept 1847, he married Mary Ann Pool, who was the daughter of Peter Pool and Susannah Leonard of Virginia. Mary Ann was born in Loudoun Co., Virginia, in 1819. Her father died when she was young and her mother remarried to Frederick W. Morris. Most of this family moved to Zanesville, Ohio, in the 1830s. Mary Ann and George had four children together (see detailed list below). During the 1850, they lived in Zanesville; 1860 census in Pollack (New Castle), Lawrence Co., PA, 1870 census in Osceola, MO. The reasons for the moves are unknown. George Outhwaite died Jan. 6, 1879, in Osceola. Mary Ann (Pool) Outhwaite died of influenza in Osceola on Feb. 15, 1890.
