PLEASANTON -- Marian Rasmussen, 88, of Pleasanton died Monday, April 25, 2016, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.

Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasanton. The Rev. Dean Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in the Basin Cemetery south of Mason City. Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.

Marian Rasmussen was born May 28, 1927, in Custer County to Edward and Gladys (Olsen) Jensen. She graduated from Mason City High School and Kearney State Teachers College.

She married Don Rasmussen on Nov. 12, 1949, in Kearney. They made their home in Loup City, moved to Rockville in 1956 and Pleasanton in 1959. She taught in rural schools in Custer, Sherman and Buffalo Counties.

Marian was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasanton.

She enjoyed fishing, art, horse racing and family.

Survivors include two daughters, Carole (Larry) Riessland of Pleasanton and Kay (Myron) Miigerl of Ravenna; a son, Paul (Sue) Rasmussen of Dannebrog; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn Ostrand of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and four brothers.
