This is the first attack first appearing about two months since; disease increasing with periodical rational intervals; no permanent hallucination; is dangerous from being homicidal; is disposed to injure others from sudden passion; is not suicidal; is filthy; has been intemperate in drinking absinthe (distilled, highly alcoholic, anise-flavored spirit); he is emaciating since the attack; cause, masturbation; class, mania; no treatment. Admitted March 21st 1865. Has some means due as Soldier. Discharged March 7th 1866.
