June (Metcalf) Kidd, 88, former resident of Bartlesville, passed away on March 8, 2016 at her home in Las Vegas, NV.
June was born in Amarillo, Texas on Nov. 5, 1927. She was the daughter James C. Metcalf and Lela Mae (Wright) Metcalf. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1945. She studied Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Texas and graduated in 1949.
June married Hugh Kidd in 1949. They made their home in Borger, Texas. June worked in Pharmacy for several years, and then took a job as a chemist with Phillips 66 in 1955. She relocated with Phillips to Bartlesville in 1960 and worked at the Phillips Research Center until her retirement in 1984. She moved to Las Vegas in 1988, and worked as a part time Pharmacist for several years until she retired permanently from the workforce.
June spent her retirement years traveling, spending time with family, and enjoying the entertainment in Las Vegas.
June was preceded in death by her husband in 1982. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Sue (Metcalf) Crist in 2006. June is survived by her son, Henry Kidd, of Bartlesville; her daughter, Cynthia Nelson of Lakewood, California, She is also survived by her grandchildren James Kidd, Bartlesville; Angel January, Owasso; Micah Kidd, Las Vegas, NV; Lacie Mickler, Las Vegas, NV; Cheryl Nelson, Palo Alto, CA and Brian Nelson, Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
A graveside memorial will be held April 18 at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, TX. .
