Professional Football Player. For five seasons (1981 to 1985), he played at the linebacker position in the National Football League with the Green Bay Packers. Born Guy Tyrone Prather, he attended Gaithersburg High School in Maryland, where he excelled in football, in addition to track and field, shot put and discus throwing competition. He earned an athletic scholarship to play collegiate football at Grambling State University, under all time great coach Eddie Robinson and went on to achieve Southwestern Athletics Conference honors. Signed as a non-drafted free agent by Green Bay, he displayed durability during the course of his career, as he played in 73 career regular season games consecutively. Prather distinguished himself, when he set a then-Packers' record of 34 tackles as a special teams player in 1981. After retiring from football, he worked as an executive in the financial industry and later attained his degree in theology and served as a minister. He died from cancer.
