Dies Of Paralysis
Pioneer of Gypsum Township
Had Been Ill Since Sunday

Mrs. Sarah P. Sutton, 69 years old, whose husband T. J. Sutton, was the first white settler in Gypsum township, died of paralysis at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon at her residence, 341 North Charles avenue. She had been ill since Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Sutton have lived in Sedgwick county since 1875. Forty-seven years ago they took up a claim in Gypsum township, where they farmed till a year and a half ago, when they moved to Wichita.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sutton is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Daisy E. Brooks, of Derby; four sons, Thadeus J., Edwin B., and Daniel L. Sutton of Wichita, and Jerome T., of Derby; one sister, four brothers, nineteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Flanagan & Bourman Funeral home. Burial will be in Branson cemetery, 12 1/2 miles southeast of Wichita.
