MRS. THOMAS BURNS
Mrs. Thomas Burns, formerly of Geneseo, died Monday, July 25, in a Rochester nursing home. The former Sarah Kennedy, she was born in Northern Ireland, October 7, 1872, coming to this country at an early age and residing in Geneseo until 1948, when she moved to Rochester. She was twice married. Her first husband, James Ager, died in 1903. She later married Thomas Burns, who passed away in 1945. Mrs. Burns was a devoted member of Geneseo Methodist Church for over fifty years and was active in its affairs as long as her health permitted. She was also a former member of Geneseo Grange.
She is survived by a step-son, Harry H. Burns of Geneseo; two step-daughters, Mrs. Hugh Bickerstaff and Miss Martha M. Burns, both of Rochester; a brother, James Kennedy of Caledonia; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, at 2:30 p. m. in Geneseo Methodist Church, by the Rev. Harland J. West, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Joseph Sunter, pastor emeritus of Central Presbyterian Church, Geneseo. Interment will be in Temple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening, from 7 to 9, at the W. S. Rector and Sons Funeral Chapel, Geneseo.
