She and Lille were terribly ill and vomited. Lillie's husband, Charles (Charley) T. Jones, however did not and died a week later on March 21, 1900 from the effects of arsenic poisoning.
Following the death of her husband, Lille moved from Madison north to Smartville, NY with their four year old son Harold to live with her parents. Either before or around this time she had contracted pulmonary tuberculosis. She passed away in her parents' home from the disease seven years later in 1907.
Their son, 12 year old Harold, was taken in by his aunt and uncle, LeElla and John Dungey .
