Jerry was born June 30, 1934, in Fort Worth to Withers L. and Ezda Hess Durway. They preceded him in death as did his brother, Charles L. Durway. Jerry grew up in Fort Worth, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in chemical engineering, and later earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. Jerry and Carolyn met in Boston, Mass., married in Akron, Ohio, in 1964 and lived in Boston, Cleveland, Ohio, New York City, Austin and the Baltimore/Washington, D.C., area.
Survivors: His loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn Gustely Durway; daughter, Emily; son, Stephen; and granddaughter, Hannah. He is also survived by maternal aunt, Juanita Gibbens of Phoenix, Ariz.; cousins, Barbara Stones and David Gibbens, also of Phoenix, Robert Durway of Fort Worth, and Daniel (Flo) Durway of Raleigh, N.C.
