Franklin G. Ragsdale, 87, widower of Helen H. Ragsdale, departed this world into his heavenly home on Tuesday morning, November 5, 2013. Born April 1, 1926 to the late Joe and Rossie Felker Ragsdale.

Frank proudly served his country in the US Army being honorably discharged in April 1950. He served as Mortar Gunner in the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns and again as active reservist in June 1953. He worked at JP Stevens, Dunean Plant, for 50 years in which he retired in April 1991.

He was preceded in death by his parents and faithful wife, Helen; four brothers; and three sisters.

He leaves behind his children, Frankie Loukides of the home; Sam Sue of Piedmont, Andy Karen of Easley; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Joe, Jr. Ruby; and a sister, Evelyn White.

Visitation will be held Thursday November 7, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A graveside service will be held Friday, November 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park officiated by the Reverend Ronnie Powell. The family will be at their respective homes.
