Jack Canterbury Jr. 90 of Ragland, WV passed away April 10, 2016 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1926 at Holden, WV the son of the late Jack Sr. and Lydia Marcum Canterbury he was also preceded in death by brothers, Clifford and Eugene Canterbury and sister, Betty Jane.
Mr. Canterbury was a retired coal miner having worked more than 30 years in the mines. He also served his country well as he was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was also a member of the Aracoma Lodge #99 in Logan, WV.
He is survived by his children, Michael (Diana) Canterbury of Scott Dept, WV and Jacqueline (Dennie) Hill of Forest Hills, KY, sisters, Ruth Sitz and Delores Canterbury both of Fort Lauderdale, FL, grandchildren, Michael (Shellie), Melissa (Jeff) and Ariel, great-grandchildren, Cameron, Carter, Noah and Trey.
Funeral services will be held Thursday April 14, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Will Compton and Minister Donnie Estep officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV
