Theodore was born in Ascheberg, Westfalen, Prussia, (possibly as Anton Theodor) son of Jobst Henrich Buscher and Catharina Elisabeth Stiens/Stienmann. Theodore entered the US on at least two occasions. Once in 1856, we assume to accompany his sister Marie who married Harmon Specker in Lake County, IN in 1856 and once in 1860 accompanying his cousin Anton Stiemann and Anton's future wife Elisabeth Pohlplatz.
Theodore married Gertrude Catharine Hoeweken on 9 Feb 1863 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Klaasville, Lake County, IN. Gertrude's family had been in Lake County since the early 1850s. They were parents of five children; two boys and three girls.
The oldest was Anna Catharina who married John Sermour/Seymour in 1887 at St. Mary's in Crown Point.
Next born was Caroline who arrived in Aug of 1866. She married Henry Hirtzl, 1891, in Benton County, where the family had moved after the death of their mother.
Thirdly was Frederick who was born in 1869 in Lake Co, Indiana. He married Katie Thiener in 1892 in Cook Co, IL although they lived in Benton County.
Second to last came Marie who was born about 1872-3 in Lake County. Marie married late in life to Edward Rolston and was a beloved aunt to Frederick's children, living her entire adult life in Chicago.
The baby of the family was Anthony "Tony", who was born in 1874-5 just before his mother died. Tony first married Helen Harrington and secondly married Minnie Stankey.
Theodore passed away in August of 1891 and is buried in St. John's, Earl Park, Benton County Indiana.
