Preceded in death by parents, Eldon Ezekiel Buckner and Ruth Anna Bumpass, as well as a brother, Eldon E. Buckner, Jr. He was born in Dickson county, TN. He is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Frances "Annie" Buckner and four children; daughters Cathie D. Buckner, Elaine S. (Paul) Plummer, sons, Paul M. Buckner, Roy W. (Holly) Buckner; sisters, Dorothy Boyer and Louise (Jack) Cothron, Nancy Poole; brother, Joe Thomas (Chris) Buckner; grandchildren, Valley S. (Robert) Steele, Monoletto (Alicia) Ray, Kristen (Chris) Ayer, Victor (Tabitha) Ray, Sarah Anne Bargatze, Lindsey Plummer, Justin (Stacia) Buckner, Amanda Buckner; great-grandchildren, Josiah Ray and Zackory Ayer. Bill was a retired United Methodist Minister in the Tennessee Conference and served 43 years in churches in Middle Tennessee and Davidson county. He was a graduate of Austin Peay, Scarritt College, and Vanderbilt University. He served many years as a Red Cross Disaster Volunteer and as a teacher of AARP Safe Driving courses. He was an active member of the Middle Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society and taught silversmithing at Donelson Fifty Forward for many years. He loved God, his family, and the people he ministered to. Visitation will be on Wednesday March 16th from 3-8 P.M. and Thursday 10-11 A.M. at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Entombment will follow services at 1:30 P.M. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 2930 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN.
