Dorothy Sue (Buckner) Boyer was born on April 11, 1933 in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, the daughter of Eldon Ezekiel Buckner Sr (1901-1982) and Ruth Anna (Bumpus) Buckner (1904-1960).

She was married to William "Bill" Boyer.

She retired from Civil Service at Fort Campbell, Kentucky after 30 years and was also a farm wife. She loved cooking and sewing, ceramics, reading, music and teaching Sunday school. She was also a member of Saint Bethlehem United Methodist Church.

A resident of Clarksville, Dorothy was 82 years old when she passed away on July 8, 2015.

Preceded in death by her husband, her brother Reverend William "Bill" Buckner and Eldon Ezekiel Buckner Jr and by her sister Louise (Buckner) Cothron, she was survived by three married daughters; a married son; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a married brother; sister; a Cothron brother-in-law; Buckner sister-in-law; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service was held at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
