She was a housewife and mother to nine children: Orphia Donnella Rigsby Hammett, Arthur Liddell Rigsby, William Palmer Rigsby, Homer Sylvester, Veona Elizabeth Rigsby Hughes Smith Wunderlich, Vastie Clara Rigsby Fowler, Dolphus Hue Rigsby, Charlie Winston Rigsby, Elmon David Rigsby.

Ellen Rigsby, 63, died 17 October 1926 in Joppa, Cullman County, Alabama. Internment was in Red Apple Cemetery, Marshall County, Alabama.
