JOHNSON RITES HELD TUESDAY
City Resident for 35 Years
Last rites for William Lewis Johnson, 83, of 411 N. Ohio, were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, in the Free Will Baptist Church of Drumright.
The Rev. Benton, former pastor of the church, officiated. He was assisted by the Rev. J. A. Franklin, present pastor of the church. Bennett-Stubblefield funeral home directors were in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the North Drumright Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson died in his home at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 26, after a long illness.
He was born in Maysville, Mo., January 10, 1870. In 1908 he was married to Miss Ella Davis of Mangum. They moved to Drumright in 1918. Until his retirement Mr. Johnson was employed as a pumper for Sinclair Oil company in Drumright.
Survivors include his wife of the home address, three sons, two daughters and one brother.
Sons are George of Bowden, Horace of Los Angeles, Calif., and Lester of Marysville, Calif. Daughters are Mrs. Opal Fry and Mrs. Frances Hahn, both of Marysville, Calif. His brother is Leonard Johnson of Lexington, Oklahoma.
