John F. Elliott, 88, of Denton, a retired farmer, died Saturday at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Elliott was born Aug. 4, 1878, in Elliott County, a son of the late George and Lou Ellen Perry Elliott.
He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. John Moore of Huntington, Ind., Mrs. Wilson Justice of Washington C. H., O., and Mrs. Chester Withrow of Denton; three sons, Ernest Elliott of Denton, George Elliott of London, O., and Walter Elliott of Huntington, Ind., 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at the Hitchins Freewill Baptist Church with Watt Moore officiating. Burial was in the Carroll Cemetery, with the Malone Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
