Mrs. Katherin Connolly Nordhaus of 122 North Iron passed away at a local hospital Thursday evening after a long illness.
Born March 11, 1878, in Nolan County, Texas, Mrs. Nordhaus had been a resident of Deming for 66 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church, wa active in the organization of the new Mimbres Memorial Hospital, and had an outstanding collection of rocks, cactus and Indian artifacts. Her husband, Frank Nordhaus, pioneer merchant of Deming preceded her in death in 1947.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Medhodist Church, Rev. J. R. Bunts officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of Mahoney's Funeral Home.
Survivors include one brother, Emmet Connolly, and one sister, Mrs. Susie Tidmore, both of Deming.

Relatives in Deming for the funeral of Mrs. Katherin Nordhaus were Dr. and Mrs. Leigh Wilcox of El Paso. Mr. and Mrs. Brantley Tidmore of Alamogordo, Mrs. Edna Nordhaus and daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell of Las Cruces, Mrs. Larry Martin of Woodland Hills, Calif., Mrs. Bessie Lombard of Bremerton, Wash., and Walter E. Hyatt of El Paso.
Some of the out-of-town friends include Miss Elizabeth Waddill, Mrs. Fred Shore and Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Lusk, all of Las Cruses.
