PIONEER PHYSICIAN, DR OLIN ENZOR DIES----------
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon for Dr. Olin O. Enzor, pioneer Okaloosa County physician, who died Wednesday night in his West Highway 90 home after a short illness.
Born in Lapine, Alabama, Dr. Enzor moved to Crestview in 1925, opening his medical practice in the Rice Building. In 1928 he opened the Enzor Hospital which burned in 1931.
The hospital long a landmark in Crestview was rebuilt and expanded and for 10 years served as the sole medical facility, other than doctors' offices.
Dr. Olin or Dr. O.O. as he was known to many patients and friends, was joined by his brothers, Dr Justus " Dr.Jut" and Dr. Rhett Enzor in the medical practice and later by a nephew, Dr. Allan Enzor.
The late Dr. Enzor cantlaued in medical practice until his retirement in 1958.
However, Dr. Enzor continued to remain busy in retirement,operating his farm and ranch west of Crestview.
He was one of the first to experiment in cross breeding of cattle and buffalo and earned national agricultural recognition for his "cattalo".
He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Crestview and Concord Lodge No. 50, Order of Masons in Crestview.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lois Enzor; a daughter, Connie;, a son Roger; and brother, Dr. Rhett Enzor, all of Crestview; his sister, Mrs Eugenia Booth of Montgomery, Alabama; 6 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren..
Funeral services were conducted from McLaughlin Chapel with Rev. Karl Campbell and Rev. A.L. Martin officiating. Burial was in Live Oak Park cemetery with McLaughlin Funeral home in charge.
