Sweetwater - Bud Geron, 90, of Sweetwater died at 2:40 p.m. in Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church. The Rev. H. O. Abbott, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery under direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Born Dec. 12, 1889 in Rockport, he moved here in 1920 and farmed near Roscoe until 1942. He was a Sweetwater policeman from 1942 until retiring in 1964. He married Dora Carlile on Nov. 16, 1916 in Hugo, Okla. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jean Etz of Dallas and Martha Sackett of Lewisville; three sons, Nelson Geron of Sweetwater, Billy Geron of Odessa and Jesse Lee Geron of Alamogordo, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A daughter preceded him in death.
