"Melvina A. Morris, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Morris, was born January 7, 1852, in Linn county, Missouri. She departed this life May 6, 1919, in Browning, Missouri, age 67 years, 3 months and 29 days.

She was married to Nelson Keithley on June 13, 1869. He preceded her to 'the Great Beyond' twelve years ago on Christmas Day [sic]. To this union were born four children, Miss Ella Keithley of Browning, Mrs. Will Moore of Laclede, Mrs. Will Wilson of Brookfield and Wallace Keithley of Browning. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five sisters and one brother. Besides her own family, she was a foster mother to Frank Wiley, a nephew of her husband's, and Roy Burchett, being nurtured from babyhood to manhood.

She confessed faith in her Savior when 19 years of age, living as a consecrated Christian to the last. While living on the farm, her thoughts were doing good to all mankind both in church and in the world. After moving to town where business cares were less, her Bible was her constant companion. Not a day passed but what she read and studied God's word. To know her was to love her." The Browning Leader-Record (Browning, Missouri), May 15, 1919
