Addie was the daughter of William W. and Sarah Ann Nichols Tucker. She was born in Breckinridge County, KY. There are several birthdates given for her, the most likely seems to be April, 1850. Her parents died while she was young, and she and her sister went to Davidson County where she married William (Billy) Wells when she was 13. They had 8 children. After Billy's death, Addie married John Usher June 2, 1879. John and Addie had four children.
After John's death, Addie married William M. "Buck" Harralson August 2, 1898. According to her granddaughter, Bernice Wells Mitchell, Addie lived on her farm across from the Buck Creek Baptist Church. She liked to smoke her clay pipe, and Bernice remembered seeing her rocking in front of the fireplace smoking that pipe.
According to Bernice, Addie is buried in the Underwood Family Cemetery next to her son, Gus Wells. There is no headstone for her. Her body was carried to the cemetery by wagon because Addie always said, "No hearse!" Bernice also remembered that one of Gus's sisters and her husband were later buried at the foot of his grave.
Other children of Addie and Billy Wells were: William T Wells, b 1864, d in AR; Sarah Bell Wells, b 1868, d.1950, married Thompson R Tucker; Lizzie Ella Wells, b 1869, d 1925, married Bale Harralson; Elgin Wells, b1870, d. bet 1870-1880; Addie Wells, b. c 1875, died bet 1895-1900, married a Frizzell; Richard Alfred Wells, b 1876; Willie A Wells, b. abt 1878.
