MARY MARGARET REMSBURG AHALT, 89, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., died Tuesday, March 29, 2016. She was born May 6, 1926, in Keedysville, Md., to the late Harry Remsburg and Olive Virginia Clopper Remsburg.

Mary was a Boonsboro High School graduate, Class of 1944, and she attended Columbia College in Hagerstown. She worked at Pangborn Corp. in Hagerstown.

Mary married Robert M. Ahalt in Middletown, Md., on Sept. 6, 1950.

Mary was a lifelong Lutheran, and member of Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown for more than 50 years and a Sunday school teacher for more than 30 years. She also volunteered at City Hospital for more than 10 years.

Mary has two sons, Gregory R. Ahalt and Gary M. Ahalt; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold C. Remsburg; and two sisters, Kathryn R. Barnes of Florida, and Bernice Ann Baker of Falling Waters.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert M. Ahalt; a sister, Alice Virginia Hockenberry; and three brothers, E. Gratton Remsburg, Russell E. Remsburg and Thomas H. Remsburg.

Graveside service will be held at Christ Reformed Cemetery; arrangements by Brown Funeral Home.
