Jabez is my great-great-uncle.
Jabez Broadhead Harward was born March 13, 1892 in Joseph City, Utah and was the son of the late Heber Harward and Mary Jane Broadhead.

He married Rose LaVern McDonald of Heber City, Utah on June 9, 1913 in Heber City, Utah; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 31, 1921. Jabez was a Sheep Inspector for the State of Utah.

On Saturday, December 9, 1950 at 12:00 p.m., Jabez suffered a stroke and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in The Avenues neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah. Complications proved too much and he died at 2:00 p.m. at the young age of 58 years old. He resided at 415 North 1000 West in the Fairpark neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah at the time of his death.

Jabez, also known as J.B. and Jabe, left to cherish his memory his wife of thirty-seven years, LaVern Harward; sons and daughters: Mrs. Ida Haskell of Payson, Utah; Mrs. Gladys Haskell of Latuda, Carbon County, Utah; Talph Harward of Spanish Fork, Utah; Mrs. LaVern Hale and Max Harward, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; eleven grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, December 13, 1950 at 12:00 p.m. in the Salt Lake Twenty-Ninth Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at the corner of 400 North and 1000 West in the Rose Park neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah. Calling hours were held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Mortuary located at 2128 South State Street (100 East) in South Salt Lake, Utah, and on Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:45 a.m. at the Harward Family Home prior to the services.
Jabez was laid to rest following the conclusion of the Funeral Services at the Salt Lake City Cemetery in The Avenues neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah.
